Rooting allows you to further personalize your Android device. Some Android users root their devices to remove bloatware, while others do it to tweak their phones or flash custom ROMs.

T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus 4G SGH-T869 already blazes trails because of its 4G capabilities, and rooting the said tablet could only do more.  Thanks to XDA Developers member bdigitalstudio, you can now root your Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus 4G SGH-T869 very easily.

Requirements

• T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus 4G SGH-T869
• Download the latest version of Samsung KIES on your computer. You can get it from Samsung’s Support Page.
• Download the rooting package from here (root.zip, 154.4 kB)
• Backup your personal data before rooting the tablet.
• Disable system tools such as antivirus software and firewall programs before rooting the tablet.
• Charge the tablet’s battery to at least 60%. This will ensure that your tablet will last throughout the entire rooting process.

Rooting Instructions

1. Connect your tablet to your computer using a USB cable.
2. Copy root.zip to the root of your tablet’s external microSD card.  Do not place the file inside any subfolder.
3. Unplug your tablet from the computer.
4. Turn off your Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus 4G SGH-T869.
5. Reboot your tablet into recovery mode. To do that, you will need to press and hold the Volume Up key and Power button at the same time. Once the tablet turns on, release the Power button and keep the Volume Up key pressed until recovery loads.
6. While in recovery, select Install update from External Storage and select the root.zip file.
7. Confirm the action to begin the rooting process on your tablet.
8. Once the rooting process is complete, return to the main menu and reboot your tablet.
9. Wait until the tablet completely boots and install the following apps on your rooted tablet:
   • Install Superuser from the Google Play Store. Run the app and update the SU Binary.
   • Install BusyBox from the Google Play Store. Run the app and flash your desired BusyBox version.
